a publisher who worked at one of the major publishing companies, that everyone knows in New York, for many years.

He is retired, but when in business, he published the poetic works of Maya Angelou, Dr. Seuss, and Langston Hughes. He particularly liked sailing with Dr. Seuss because he was such a good guy. It was really interesting for someone like me who is selling books.

I consider this type of occurrence good encouragement, because on the way out of this event, he walked by and gave me a pat on the back. One has to keep selling, meeting people and so forth. I really enjoy making these connections, even if they are only for a few minutes. And who knows where one of them might lead…
